I Just wanted to create a short advert (!!!) for BandCamp. It seems that not many non musicians know about it, so here goes: unlike Spotify, Apple Music (et al), BandCamp pays a good return for musicians (82% goes to the creator!) It’s a place where you can lay out all of your music, where people can listen up to three times for free, and then can download either individual tracks or whole albums. (The UK it’s £1 per track and £7 per album, ; you can charge more or put songs up for free. people can also donate more if they want to support your music.) You can also sell stuff in the “merch” section including CDs or vinyl if you wish, for us older folk who like to buy “stuff”. I’m in the process of putting up just about ALL of my solo music on there!
I managed to make reasonable money from my music during Lockdown and after so it’s a Godsend. Also, every so often they hold a “BandCamp Friday” when ALL the money goes to the musicians. SO please, have a browse on BandCamp and see what you can find (I think you’ll be pleased with it!)
